Crash add-on provides a shell to connect to JVM and useful commands to work with a JCR repository. You can think of Crash add-on as a "JCR Explorer" tool, and more powerful that allows writing commands to handle various tasks.
Crash add-on is built on top of Crash and is made ready to run in eXo Platform.
