For now the feature supports Windows and MAC clients. Users need to install a Video client driver on their machines.
Requirements
Video Calls add-on is already activated at (eXo Platform) server side.
Browsers: Internet Explorer 8+, Chrome, Firefox, Safari 5.1 or later.
Client operating systems: Windows XP SP3, Windows 7 and 8, Mac OS 10.6 to 10.9.x.
Installing Video client driver
Log in eXo Platform on a supported browser. It automatically detects if the driver was installed or not. If not, it shows a notification right below the top administration bar that asks you to install the driver.
Here, click Download Video Client to download the RTCCdriver installer.
Once you have clicked Download Video Client, the pop-up will disappear.
If the pop-up somehow disturbs you, click to temporarily dismiss it. Be careful with "Don't ask me again" that will permanently skip the notification.
The following screenshots walk you through the driver installation:
On Windows 7 (with Firefox):
When clicking Download Video Client, you will be asked to save the RTCCdriver.exe
file.
Save and wait for the download to be completed, then run it.
When the installation finishes, you will see an icon in the system tray. Log in eXo Platform, and wait for a while. The icon turns bright that means Video Calls is ready for use.
On MAC (with Chrome):
After clicking Download Video Client, notice if the browser asks you to keep the RTCCdriver.pkg
file.
Save the file and wait for the download to be completed, then run it.
The installation wizard will help you finish the rest:
When the installation finishes, you will see an icon in the system tray. Log in eXo Platform, and wait for a while. The icon turns bright that means Video Calls is ready for use.
